THE UNIQUE
ARABA SHRINERS FLINTSTONES UNIT
Chartered in 1965, the Flintstones is one of the original units of ARABA Shrine. The unit’s fleet consists of ten Flintmobiles, midget cars resembling logs. The unit itself owns the Flintmobiles and the trailer.
The Flintstones drive in parades and other events for the entertainment of children and adults alike. They support the Shrine in its philanthropy including its work for children who have orthopedic problems, suffered severe burns, or sustained spinal cord injuries. They assist with projects to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children as well as projects which support ARABA Shrine itself. Money is raised also to defray the cost of replacement, maintenance and transportation of their vehicles. The Unit’s fleet requires much maintenance in order to keep its Flintmobiles parade-ready. The members do the work themselves.
The Flintstones’ labors of love help the Shrine in its noble endeavors. At the same time they are rewarded with great fellowship, the happy faces of kids of all ages, and the gratification of helping children in need.
The Flintstones meet on the second Monday of each month. Its meetings begin at 7:30 PM at Cypress Lodge No. 295 F.&A.M., 5850 North Tamiami Trail, Naples, FL. The unit is open to new members.
